My boyfriend bought me a surprise trip for my birthday – I only found out I was going to Belgium when I was already at the airport! I revisited cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Ghent and visited Leuven for the first time. Best gift ever!
In order to celebrate Carlos’s birthday and my birthday, we decided to go on a road trip adventure in mainland Greece. I don’t know if it was because we had no expectations, but it ended up being one of my favorites trips!

This year my mom had some health issues and I had an unplanned trip to Portugal. Since it was not booked way in advance, the best option for the return flight was with a connection flight from Geneva, Switzerland. Last time I was there it was in 2011, to visit my sister. It definitely brought some memories back!
This country has fascinated me ever since I watched an episode of Madrilenos por el Mundo in Luxembourg and saw how well people live there and how beautiful this small country is. Luxembourg also has a huge Portuguese community and I truly felt at home there!
One month after visiting Berlin, I went back to Germany. This time to visit Cologne, Düsseldorf and Bonn. That European old charm that Berlin lacked, these cities definitely have it.
I traveled to Berlin for Valentine’s Day. It was an interesting trip, with lots of different activities, like a Twenty One Pilot concert and a German football match.
In 2018 I went to the United States of America to spend Christmas there with my boyfriend’s family. We went to Miami Beach in the sunny state of Florida, spent a day in amusement parks in Orlando and enjoyed family time in Atlanta, Georgia.
In September 2018 my boyfriend and I went to Greece. We visited Athens, Santorini and Mykonos for about a week. It’s a country with amazing views and amazing history.
In May 2018 I went on a real road trip around Europe. In 11 days I visited Munich (Germany), Füssen & Neuschwanstein Castle (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria) and Budapest (Hungary). Amazing!
In January 2018 some friends from work and I decided to go on a weekend trip to Brussels. Despite the fact that the four of us come from such different countries, we all enjoyed the same things: Belgium beer, chocolates and waffles.
I was fortunate enough to travel to Rome with my company EC in 2017, as part of a team building event. It was my first time in Rome and I had a lot of fun getting to know the city and my colleagues.
I went with Alejandro to Morocco, one of my dream destinations. We visited Fez and Marrakech, both with amazing souks and colorful souvenirs. We also did a tour in the Sahara desert with a camel ride, a visit to a nomad Berber family and a night in the middle of the desert, under the starry sky.
In September 2017 I went to Poland. It was a very demanding trip – visiting 5 places in 5 days: beautiful Gdansk, modern Warsaw, elegant Krakow, sad Auschwitz and colorful Wroclaw. It’s hard to say which one I loved the most!
In August of 2017, I went with my boyfriend to Sicily, in the south of Italy. We stayed in Catania, visited Palermo and did skydiving in Siracusa. An amazing experience! Another thing from my bucket list.
In June 2017 I went with Alejandro to Portugal. Then we went to Marseille for two days, to get to know the south of France. Marseille is a city full of contrasts, with both beautiful and ugly areas, but very interesting and full of life!
In the summer of 2017, I went with my boyfriend to Portugal. I really wanted to show him around my country and I really felt like a tourist there. We went to my hometown Paredes, Penafiel, Porto, Braga, Guimarães and the capital Lisbon.
In January 2017 I decided to change my life completely and move to Malta. I didn’t know anything about this country and my initial plan was to stay just for 2 months. However, I fell in love with it and I’m still here, after more than 2 years. It’s a small island but very beautiful and multicultural!
Back in 2016, around Christmas time, I went to S. Miguel island in Azores with my friend Rita. It was the first Portuguese island I’ve ever visited. It’s funny how this little piece of Portugal is located more than 1500 km away from the mainland! S. Miguel is a beautiful island with happy cows and green hill!
In November 2016 two friends and I have decided to do the Portuguese Way of St. James. We walked for more than 200 km for almost 2 weeks, from Porto (Portugal) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain). It was an amazing experience and a valuable life lesson!
In September 2016 I decided to travel alone for the first time ever, in a safe familiar country that I have visited before. I revisited Brussels like a local and discover new cities like Ghent and Antwerp.
In the summer of 2016, I decided to go on an adventure with two friends and discover Seville. We did a road trip in my car from Porto (Portugal) to Spain, more than 800 km, stopping also in Algarve on our way back, in the south of Portugal.
In the spring I decided to go with two friends to two Scandinavian countries: Denmark and Sweden. Due to the geographic proximity, we were able to visit Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmo in Sweden, in a cold but unforgettable experience.
In the winter of 2015, I went to Amsterdam. It was an amazing trip in the city of sex, drugs, water canals and Anne Frank. It was cold but I still enjoyed it a lot!
In 2015 I went with a friend to the north of Italy: to the cosmopolitan and stressful Milan and to the beautiful romantic Verona. Two cities very close to each other, but very different.
In the summer of 2015, I went with a friend to Brazil. First, we visited the north: Recife, Olinda and Porto de Galinhas. Then, we flew to the most beautiful city ever, Rio de Janeiro.
In 2015 I went to visit my best friend in Cape Verde. She was there doing a volunteer program with children in S. Vicente’s island. It was the first time I traveled outside of Europe and I was in Africa, in a Portuguese ex-colony. We share the same language but the contrasts are obvious.
In 2014 I drove to Spain in my car. I visited Tui, the Spanish city on the border with the Portuguese city Valença and then I went to Santiago de Compostela, the city of the pilgrims.
In the summer of 2014, I had the opportunity to work for a Spanish company that offered me training in their headquarters in Valladolid for 2 weeks. We went to Salamanca on the weekend. With this trip I fulfilled one of my dreams, to travel for work for the first time.
In the summer of 2014, I went to two Belgium cities: Bruges and Brussels. Without a doubt, I preferred Bruges, a medieval town very charming and beautiful. It reminded me of fairy tales and great love stories!
Taking advantage of the fact that my boyfriend at the time was doing ERASMUS in Murcia, we both went to Madrid for a weekend. I had also been there a few months before.
In 2014 I went to Murcia. I took the time to visit other cities in the south of Spain as well, like Cartagena and Granada. In Granada, we visited Alhambra, an amazing complex of Arabic palaces.
In 2014 I went to Germany with a friend for the first time. We went to visit Frankfurt, a city with some interesting things to see but a lot of contrasts since a lot of the old monuments were destroyed by the war and now a big part of the city is modern.
In 2013 I went with my best friends from childhood to London. It was an amazing experience to travel with them to a city that has so much to offer and to see. We also went to the Warner Bros – Harry Potter studios, a universe that was part of our childhood.
In 2013 I did a road trip around Portugal. I drove to cities like Porto, Lisbon, Evora, Alcobaca, Sintra, etc. It was an amazing experience that made me fall in love even more with my country!
In the winter of 2012, I went to Barcelona, the city of Gaudi. We visited the Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell, Barrio Gotico, among other things. It’s a city full of life!
I went to the most romantic city in the world, Venice. It was a trip that was very important for me and I felt like my wanderlust desire was awaken again.
During Christmas in 2011, I went with my mom to Geneva in Switzerland to visit my sister. Then we drove through the Alps to France, to visit the rest of my family in Dijon. It was not the first time I went to Dijon.
In 2008, I spent New Year’s Eve with my siblings in Dijon, France. It was my first trip abroad ever and I did it alone. Before coming home, we all went to Paris for a weekend. I loved it!
